It began yesterday when news broke that Prime Minister Justin Trudeau was going to shuffle his Cabinet along with announcements by a number of MP’s like Carolyn Bennett, Minister for Mental Health and Addictions, would not be running for re-election.
More than a shuffle, this was a sweeping overhaul. The government defended this all-encompassing shake-up as a necessary move to address “this difficult time right now for millions of people in Canada and around the world, and making sure we have the best possible team aligned to respond to Canadian’s challenges”.
Indeed, there are 30 of the 38 ministries are impacted, 7 ministers dropped, some are asking if this might be a signal surrounding the next election?
