Letter from Chief Shining Turtle to Hon. Jane Philpott, Ontario’s Fair Share Campaign (Please click for Full Letter)
In a letter to the Minister, Chief Shining Turtle, as one of the 133 First Nations in Ontario Region, details his concerns regarding the budget allocations he reviewed for the upcoming year for INAC’s Ontario Region.

He shared the following graph that disturbingly shows there were more federal funds allocated to Ontario region in the years prior to the Liberals being elected. In the midst of all these First Nation investments and announcements by the Liberal government, Ontario has seen their budgets slashed!

INAC’s Ontario budget has languished in funding for 2015 and 2016 and reached an all time low in 2017 with more than half the budget slashed as compared to 2014-15 allocations (please see graph below).
